Supporting courses

To make it easier for you to start your studies, we offer free support courses and tutorials on math and chemistry. The courses and tutorials are voluntary. You will receive neither grades nor credit points (ECTS).

Would you like to consolidate your knowledge of math and chemistry and start your university life well-prepared?

Do you have a professional qualification and are not familiar with the school material from the upper secondary level?

Math Pre-Course

22 Sept - 02 Oct 2025 (winter semester 2025/26)

Registration is possible starting 18 August 2025!


In the two-week math pre-course, which takes place before the start of lectures, you can brush up on your intermediate and advanced maths. In the first semester, you can expect a module on mathematics in most Bachelor's degree programs. The pre-course is designed to help you prepare and get a first impression of your university. It consists of a self-assessment test, a learning module, lectures, the math workshop, and exercises.

Math Workshop

No registration required!


The Math Workshop is an open study room that you can use without any obligation. Here you can complete your weekly additional tasks independently, clarify questions about the exercises or lectures, and receive further tasks to practice. You are also welcome to come and ask specific questions. You can also get to know fellow students here.

Math Practical Workshop

The Math Practical Workshop is an open, tutor-supervised learning space for new students in the Bachelor's degree programs in Agricultural Sciences and Biobased Resources & Bioenergy. In your first semester, you will take several modules with math content. We would like to support you with questions or problems relating to the math covered.

Chemistry Compact - basic knowledge for your studies

The event is aimed at all first-year students in agricultural and natural science degree programs.

Would you like to know what to expect in chemistry at university? This event will make it easier for you to get started with your Bachelor's courses in chemistry and help you to better assess your own level of knowledge. You will review basic chemical knowledge and gain initial insights into the topics of the basic lectures.

Register in good time by Wednesday, 8 October 2025 using the F.I.T continuing education portal. (Instructions for F.I.T)
