Supporting courses

You can take a self-assessment test before the start of the math pre-course. This allows you to test how good your math skills are and on which workshop days you should be particularly attentive. You will also learn how to assess yourself reliably - this will help you enormously later on in your studies, for example when preparing for exams. Participation in the self-assessment test is anonymous. Your result has no effect on your participation in the math pre-course.

On the openILIAS learning platform, you will find a learning module with the content that is also discussed in the lectures and exercises - clearly structured and simply explained. The learning module helps you to refresh and practice the content and can also be used as a reference work. Before each pre-course day, you work independently at home through the chapter that will be covered the next day and familiarize yourself with the corresponding exercises.

Each course day begins with a lecture on the subject matter of the respective chapter.

Here you can work on the exercises in company and with tutorial support, get to know fellow students, and also ask the tutors questions about organizing your studies.

In the daily exercises, the task sheet for the course day is discussed.

• Follow the registration button below and log in to openILIAS. You will need your Hohenheim user ID, which you will receive after successful enrollment (not the login data for the application portal!). If your enrollment has not yet been completed or if you have not yet received your user ID, you must register as an external user.
• Once you have successfully logged in, you can join the math pre-course.
• In the openILIAS course you will find everything you need for the math pre-course: Information about the course, self-assessment test, learning module, etc.
• Finally, you need to register for your group (either for students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Sciences or for students of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences).
• The math pre-course will mainly take place in person. However, participation in the exercise via Zoom is also possible from 22 September to 30 September.
• You can also join the course later with access to the self-assessment test and the learning module with tasks and solutions.
